2nd Polish – Ukrainian Legal Day
On the 25th and the 26th of September 2014 the Szymon Gostyński Law Firm took part in the 2nd Polish – Ukrainian Legal Day held in Cracow. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange opinions and views on the complicated political situation of our eastern neighbours. We were able to meet lawyers from various Ukrainian-based law firms, which shall be of great importance in case our Clients need legal assistance in Ukraine.
Parliament rejected an amendment tabled by the PSL, which was intended to include limited partnerships CIT since 2014. Thereby entrepreneurs operating in this form can breathe a sigh of relief.
There has been a closure of the Consulate General of the Republic of Austria in Krakow. Simon Gostyński (lawyer since 2008)served as an attorney trust (Vetrauensanwalt) Consulate of the Republic of Austria Generalnergo in Krakow.
Parliament passed a bill of profound reform of the Criminal Procedure Code. As a result, extensive changes and amendments will be made to almost half the Code of Conduct. Revolutionary changes are aimed at strengthening the principle of adversarial proceedings and are designed to streamline the process. The reform will enter into force on 1 January 2015.
Provisions relating to flexible working enter into force. The amendment seeks to rationalize the organization of working time by extending the settlement period of working time of 4 to 12 months. The rules also allow for the use of flexible working.
Parliament passed amendments to the law of real property and mortgage register. The first one allows for an easier and faster access to non-confidential mortgage book over the Internet. The law also includes regulations allowing search of the land registry in the Central Database based on Land Registry data such as the property owner. Eligible to be determined, inter alia, the authorities bailiffs, which is to increase the effectiveness of enforcement and financial security operators. The new rules also provide for the possibility of making an Internet application for a: copy of the mortgage book, an extract from the Land Register and the certificate of its closure. The rules are expected to come into force on 1 December this year.
